Molto bello questo christmas album , antiche carole medioevali , canzoni del seicento ,
storie e leggende dalla tradizione inglese , splendido il pezzo strumentale " winter "
che da titolo all'album , molto suggestivo con viola e violini in primo piano ma in tutto
il disco aleggia l'aria invernale e festiva , canti popolari tipicamente folk ma anche
rock tirato " good king wenceslas ". Sempre la voce di Maddy Prior in primo piano
superbamente supportata dalla band. Grande classe !!!

Dan Auerbach e Patrick Carney di Akron USA , con " brothers " cambiano direzione
e dall' immediato e ossessivo ruvido blues ( ho avuto la fortuna di vederli in concerto
sono devastanti ) , cambiano tiro ed il suono esplora territori soul e funky , la chitarra
e' tagliente e psichedelica e tutto si fa piu' morbido con canzoni che mantengono una
forte ritmica e grande spessore artistico. Registrato al " muscle shoal sound " studio
leggendario, con l'uso di moderni softwere ma anche di microfoni e anplificazioni varie
vintage . Disco straordinario , i Black keys si confermano evolutivi ed il loro suono e'
al passo con i tempi , grande disco!
