1967, la Chess records mette in sala registrazione tre dei suoi diamanti , Howlin Wolf , Muddy Waters
e Bo Diddley , questi hanno fatto la storia del blues , con loro poi c'erano Buddy Guy , Otis Spann ,
Clifton James , Hubert Sumlim , alla produzione Willie Dixon , anche questi non sono meno del
fantastico trio . Sette tracce stellari !

Mumford & Sons, feat. Jerry Douglas - "The Boxer"

Vero maestro della chitarra dobro ,o resonator guitar , la sua fama come session men lo ha portato
a suonare la sua chitarra in oltre 1600album , molti con artisti country ma ha suonato con Ray Charles ,
Eric Clapton , Elvis Costello , Paul Simon , la lista e' molto lunga , vi rimando su wikipedia per informazioni
piu' precise , dove potete vedere anche la lista di Awards di associazioni varie assegnati come miglior
musicista , una lunga lista ! Con questo lavoro Jerry Douglas ( Ohio 1956 ) arriva secondo me ai
vertici della sua produzione , musica tradizionale , blues ( con Keb' Mo' ) , anche un brano R&B
" something you go" ,( che ricordo cantata da wilson Pickett) , con la chitarra di Eric Clapton ,poi
" the Boxer " accompagnato dai Munford & Sons e dall'autore Paul Simon , esecuzione limpida e
cristallina che da sola vale il disco , oltre ai gia citati ospiti anche Marc Cohn in " right on time " e
Alison Krauss & Union Station ( Jerry D. fa anche parte stabile nella band ) in " frozen fields, in
"american tune " gli Spain.
Un ottimo lavoro reso molto piu' appetibile dagli importanti amici di Jerry !!!!
